Gobiesox strumosus : ウィキペディア英語版 | Gobiesox strumosus
The skilletfish, (''Gobiesox strumosus''), is a member of the Gobiesocidae family, composed of clingfishes. These are mainly marine, tropical and temperate fishes characterized by a powerful sucking disk on the underside of the forebody. == Description == Clingfishes have elongated, slender bodies without scales. They are ventrally flattened, usually with a triangular head and wide mouth. They have widely separated pectoral fins which form a small part of the suction disk. The disk is mainly skin and muscle with the upper side covered by a thick epidermis. Upon hatching, the fish is 2.4-3.4 mm long, and it generally grows about 9 mm during development, eventually reaching 40-45 mm long when it is time for the first reproduction, which occurs from spring to summer. Skilletfish use oyster shells to lay their eggs in. Males guard these eggs. They range in color on the back from pale yellow to dark brown.
